Experimental and analytical studies on steel-reinforced concrete composite members with bonded prestressed CFRP tendon under eccentric tension

This paper reported the very earliest experimental and analytical studies on bonded Prestressed CFRP tendon enhanced Steel Reinforced Concrete (PSRC) members under eccentric tensile loads . Eight PSRC were tested monotonic loading, three (SRC) simultaneously for comparison. The load–deflection relationship, strain distributions as well crack propagation fracture of concrete investigated experimentally analytically. results demonstrated an improvement in capacity upon increasing both steel reinforcement ratios, or by reducing prestress eccentricity. also suggested that enhancement level prestressing increased can decrease lateral deflection Moreover, validity plane-section assumption was confirmed. An model proposed predicting elastic bending based results. study provided in-depth understanding structural behaviour with prestressed tension underpinned elaborate design practical model.
